Experimental and analytical investigation on flexural behaviour of RC beams strengthened with NSM CFRP prestressed concrete prisms

This investigation aims to study the flexural behaviour of reinforced concrete (RC) beams strengthened with near-surface mounted (NSM) carbon fibre polymer prestressed prisms (CFRP-PCPs). Eight RC were tested under monotonic loading until failure load was reached. One beam un-strengthened act as a control beam. The other seven non-prestressed or NSM CFRP-PCPs. effects bond length, prestress level, and type CFRP-PCPs on capacity, crack deflection are discussed in this paper. results indicate that capacity greater than An obvious improvement discovered resistance when showed higher first-cracking, yielding, ultimate length level increased up critical level. CFRP-PCPs, which cast ultra-high performance (UHPC), exhibited corresponding epoxy resin mortar. analytical model response for strengthening is presented. good agreement experimental results, revealed an effective technique beams.
